Trip Itinerary

Arrive in Kathmandu, where the tour begins with a briefing on travel logistics, high-altitude precautions, and Tibetan permits. Over the next few days, participants will complete visa processing, visit iconic temples such as Pashupatinath (optional Aarati), and prepare spiritually and logistically for the journey ahead. Kathmandu’s moderate altitude provides an ideal acclimatization period.



Distance: 122 km | Driving Time: 8–9 hours

The journey begins through the Himalayan foothills, with terraced farms, rivers, and traditional villages. The gradual ascent allows the body to adjust to higher elevations. Overnight in Syabrubesi.



Distance: 35 km | Driving Time: 4–5 hours

Cross the Nepal–Tibet border at Kerung and begin the high-altitude experience of Tibet. Enjoy plateau scenery while focusing on acclimatization. Overnight in Kerung.



Distance: 270 km | Driving Time: 5–6 hours

Travel across high passes and the vast Tibetan plateau, observing nomadic life and grazing yaks. This day introduces travelers to the arid landscapes of Western Tibet. Overnight in Saga.



Distance: 230 km | Driving Time: 6–7 hours

A stable plateau drive aids further acclimatization. The landscape features high-altitude plains, small lakes, and traditional Tibetan villages. Overnight in Paryang.



Distance: 260 km | Driving Time: 5–6 hours

Arrive at the sacred Lake Manasarovar with breathtaking views of Mount Kailash. Evening meditation and rituals by the lake allow travelers to connect spiritually with the serene surroundings. Overnight near the lake.



Distance: 40 km | Driving Time: 1–2 hours

After morning puja at Lake Manasarovar, a short drive brings travelers to Darchen, the base of Kailash Parikrama. This day is dedicated to rest and preparation for the three-day pilgrimage trek. Overnight in Darchen.

Kailash Parikrama (3 Days | 53 km)



Trek Distance: 12 km | Trek Time: 5–6 hours

The pilgrimage begins along a path lined with mani walls and prayer flags, gradually ascending to Dirapuk, offering close views of the North Face of Mount Kailash. Overnight at Dirapuk.



Trek Distance: 22 km | Trek Time: 9–10 hours

The most challenging day crosses the Dolma La Pass, the spiritual high point of the pilgrimage. Panoramic vistas of Mount Kailash, glaciers, and plateau landscapes make this trek both physically and spiritually rewarding. Overnight at Zuthulpuk.



Complete the Kailash Parikrama (kora), descending back to Darchen. Evening rituals or prayers mark the completion of this sacred journey. Overnight in Darchen.

Extension to Guge Kingdom



Distance: 250 km | Driving Time: 7–8 hours

Travel westward through dramatic canyons, eroded clay formations, and high-desert landscapes. Overnight in Zanda County.



Visit the ancient capital of the Guge Kingdom, including:

  • Tsaparang Palace Ruins
  • Cliff monasteries and meditation caves
  • Ancient murals depicting the Buddhist revival (10th–17th century)
  • Overnight in Zanda with sunset photography opportunities.


Explore Tholing Monastery, an historic spiritual center. Begin the return journey eastward, overnight en route to Darchen.



Driving Time: 7–8 hours

Return across the Tibetan plateau, observing highland desert scenery and nomadic life. Overnight in Saga.



Drive to Kerung border, cross into Nepal, and continue to Kathmandu. Conclude the pilgrimage and cultural expedition.
