Tiji (short for "Tenpa Chirim") means “Prayer for World Peace.” It is a three-day Tibetan Buddhist festival, deeply rooted in Lamaistic traditions. The festival commemorates the myth of Dorje Jono, a deity who battles against his demon father to save the Mustang kingdom from destruction and drought.
