Trip Overview

The Mustang Overland Trek is an adventurous journey that offers a unique way to explore the remote and culturally rich region of Mustang in northern Nepal. Unlike traditional treks that often involve high-altitude walking, the Overland Trek combines off-road driving with trekking to provide a comprehensive exploration of this isolated area. This approach allows travelers to access remote parts of Mustang more comfortably and efficiently while still immersing themselves in the stunning landscapes and unique cultural experiences of the region.

The trip typically begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, followed by a flight to Jomsom, the gateway to Mustang. From Jomsom, travelers embark on an overland drive through rugged terrain, passing through traditional villages and high-altitude landscapes. Key highlights of the Mustang Overland Trek include visiting Lo Manthang, the ancient walled capital of Upper Mustang, known for its Tibetan-style monasteries and royal palace. The overland route provides breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, with stops at significant cultural and historical sites such as Muktinath and Kagbeni. The journey combines the thrill of off-road adventure with the opportunity to experience Mustang’s unique heritage and natural beauty.
